Parents ask themselves: where will my child be in 2? in 5? or even in 10 years? We have your answer!
Working around horses is a fabulous opportunity for your child to become involved with a great animal. Whether your child views horses in a competitive sense or just enjoys being around them, 4-H is a fantastic program to get them involved in. Caring for a horse builds character by teaching kids the importance of responsibility and hard work. It also doesn’t hurt that a typical day in the barn is quite physical, getting your child off the couch and working!
Lucky C Stables has been home to the Equestrians Unlimited 4-H Club for over 15 years! Gary and Susan Clark have graciously donated their time in order to teach the highest quality of horse knowledge to the young equestrians of today.
Equestrians Unlimited holds meetings once a month, typically the FIRST Wednesday night of each month. They also have parties around the specific holidays, creating a fun environment for the kids to get to know each other outside the barn as well. Our 4-H’ers also get opportunities to attend field trips of local vet facilities, breeding facilities and museums.
Each year, Equestrians Unlimited sends 6-8 riders to compete at the 4-H State Championships where riders from all over NY State qualify to compete. This championship is attended by the top riders who score enough points at the Ulster County Fair Horse Show in August. The top riders then travel to Syracuse where they compete at the NY State Fair in September. This past year Equestrians Unlimited brought home 3 state championships!
