Here at Lucky C Stables, we pride ourselves in the ability to teach horse lovers a like through our years of knowledge & experience. This is something however that we cannot do without the help of some trusty friends...our lesson horses. We currently have 14 horses available to use in our diverse lesson program. We have everything from tall warm bloods to quarter horse ponies available to suit your riding needs. Without further adieu we would like to introduce you to our fabulous equine staff here at Lucky C Stables: Miss Sassy Pants aka Alli: Alli is a 10 year old, 13.1 hand, medium pony. She has a very bold personality and loves to jump. She will be a great show pony for this coming season so we are very excited to see what she can do! 
"High Voltage" aka Calvin: Calvin is an 11 year old, 16.3 hand, bay, Thoroughbred, gelding. He is a really fun horse, used for the more advanced lessons because he loves to jump. Calvin has been to several horse shows in his life including HITS Culpeper in Virginia as well as rated & local shows in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. He is a 23 year old, 16.2 hand, chestnut, Thoroughbred, gelding. These days, Cedar continues to stay busy teaching various levels of lessons. He is a safe and trustworthy guy, so he has developed quite a fan club over the years! Cedar with SUNY NP Junior Jessica Abrams --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Mocha Mike" aka Duke: Duke is the old master. He is 30 years old still teaching lessons! He is a grey, 15.3 hand, Quarter Horse, gelding. Duke is still enjoying his lessons. Though he typically doesn't jump anymore, he continues to teach kids about riding as he is one of the safest and most knowledgeable horses we've ever come across. He sure doesn't think he is old as you can frequently see him playing outside, bucking and running in his paddock! He has taken many riders to state championships through 4-H and has helped many improve their riding during their time on his back. Duke & Anna McPherson ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Girlie: Girlie is another favorite here at Lucky C Stables. She is an 18 year old, bay, Quarter Horse, mare, 15.1 hands. Girlie loves teaching people how to ride. She is the perfect size to make any rider feel at ease. Girlie loves teaching every lesson from the very walk trot beginners all the way to those able to jump around a course. Her even temper helps build confidence in her riders. He is currently leased out to two of our students who enjoy showing. He is a 16.2 hand, bay, Thoroughbred, gelding. He is a very sweet horse and he loves to jump! He has a lot of scope and talent so watch for Grit in the show ring this summer. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Jump for Joy" Mikey: Mikey & Kimmi at a show Mikey is another fantastic lesson horse. He is a 15 year old, 16.2 hand, grey, Thoroughbred, gelding. Mikey has a lot of jumping experience and loves to teach his riders how to comfortably navigate a course. Mikey will also gladly give beginners their confidence as they take one step at a time. Mikey is one of the kindest horses around. He too loves to attend shows whether it is helping out at the occassional intercollegiate show, travelling to Syracuse for the 4-H Championships or showing on the local & rated circuit, Mikey is happy to assist! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nemo: Nemo is a fun little pony who has been a wonderful addition to our equine staff. He is a 9 year old, 14.2 hand, dun & white pinto, gelding. He absolutely loves to jump and we've learned he is very talented at it! Typically Nemo is used for the more advanced jumping lessons, but with time here at Lucky C he has learned a lot and is now being filtered down to lower levels. Nemo made his Intercollegiate debut this year when he came along for the ride to help out teams in our region who didn't have enough horses for their shows. He has been an absolute rockstar, winning almost every class he competed in! **Available for Lease** ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Patrick: Patrick is another old veteran here at Lucky C. He is a 23 year old, 16.1 hand, liver chestnut, gelding. These days Patrick assists primarily with lower level lessons. He is an expert on the lunge line, giving new riders their confidence. Patrick in a lesson -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pepper Pepper is the newest addition to Lucky C. She is the absolutely sweetest pony. Pepper is a bay, 13.2 pony mare. She is a master at lunge line lessons as she is a real confidence builder for our beginner riders. Pepper is also learning how to jump which she really enjoys doing! ------------------------------------------------------------- Puffin: Puffin is the pony ride master. His entire life has pretty much revolved around pony parties and pony rides. He is present during the holiday toy drive although he doesn't really participate in the lesson program, we consider him just as important as the others! He is a 14 hand, 30 year old, bay pony. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That's Life aka Sky: Sky is our most recent addition to the Lucky C family. He is a 16.2 hand bay gelding. Sky has been to many horse shows and has quite an extensive show record spanning across the entire east coast. Sky loves to jump and has a very sweet personality! [photo coming soon!!] ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Special Excursion aka Stanley: Stanley is a 20 year old, 16.2 hand bay, gelding. Before we got Stanley he was a very successful eventing horse. These days he loves still loves jumping so he is typically used in upper level lessons but he is also great with our beginner riders. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Sweet Cyprus" aka Sweetie: Sweetie is a 16.1 hand, bay, Thoroughbred, gelding. He is been in the barn for many years and has tons of experience showing. He is used primarily for intermediate to advanced level lessons and he is currently leased out to one of our students who shows quite frequently. Sweetie is a very sweet horse. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Dancer's Two Toned" aka Toney Toney is a fabulous addition to our lesson program owned by the Neumann family, Brittany and her mother Debbie graciously allow us to use Toney when needed & when his is not being leased out. Toney is a 15.3 hand, 18 year old, bay & white paint, gelding. Prior to Brittany going away to college, she spent a lot of time with Toney making him a very educated horse. She also put a fair share of show miles on him, making him an ideal teacher and confidence builder. Deanna Zajic & Toney showing at Lucky C ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Johnny Walker" aka Walker: Walker is a 21 year old, 16.2 hand, dark bay, Thoroughbred, gelding. He is another old school master here at Lucky C. He is a really fun horse to ride with a very sweet personality. He is used for all levels of riding and he too has assisted other colleges in hosting their shows. Walker typically comes away with a first or second in every class he shows in! He's awesome! Kathryn Colavito and Walker ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Zeus: Zeus is a fairly new member of the Lucky C Lesson Horse family. He is a 16.1 hand, chestnut, gelding. Although he has only been jumping for a few months, he loves it! He is able to teach many levels of lessons from walk trot canter all the way through the advanced jumping lessons. Aside from being a joy to ride, Zeus has one of the biggest hearts and best personalities of any horse we own!  |
